Kai Wen Hu is a Taiwanese-American writer and director drawn to the ironies and everyday contradictions of social class. His work often centers on the people we’re trained not to notice—unpacking the invisible boundaries that divide us.

A graduate of Columbia’s MFA Directing Program and a two-time Indian Paintbrush Grant recipient, Hu’s films have screened at the Brooklyn Film Festival and Palm Springs International, among others.

He is currently developing two feature films—Pedigree and Colony—both expanding on the worlds first introduced in his short work.
